William Edwards School

Student Leadership

William Edwards School appoints Prefects and Student Executive each year to undertake various roles and responsibilities around the school, both during the school day and at extra-curricular events. This is a perfect role for students in Year 10 and 11 who want to take on extra responsibility, extend their experience and provide themselves with opportunities which will support their applications to college and university and to work. This leadership role contributes to school improvement and gives all students at WES a voice.

A significant proportion of pupils are proactive members of the school council, the school’s student executive group and the ‘pupils as listeners (PALs) group. These groups, alongside the head boy and head girl, act as positive role models to other pupils in the school
